Proposed IHE Actors for Xero

This document contains a list of possible IHE actors for Xero.

Required Actors

Image Display, Display - this actor is the primary Xero actor.

Evidence Creator - this is part of the required sub-set to make Xero viable (creation of GSPS, and perhaps Key Objects).

Print Composer - we need to be able to print from Xero.

Report Reader - we need to be able to display reports.

Actors that likely should be present

External Report Repository Access - in order to integration with non-Dcm4chee RIS type systems, we will likely need to implement this actor.

Portable Media Creator - just the ability to download an ISO would be very helpful, and could be used more generally in Dcm4che.

Portable Media Importer - again, the ability to import from a CD or the like - this should probably have a helper application to zip things up.

Optional Actors

Report Creator - it would be nice to be able to enter a report for a study within Xero. Pat is looking into providing this functionality as a separate Dcm4che module, which would then be easy to integrate.

Proposed IHE Profiles and Options for Xero

Xero Required Profiles and Options

Consistent Presentation of Images - we need to support GSPS display and the ability to send reports to a printer with GSPS.

Access to Radiology Information - we likely need to provide this one.

Key Image Note - this will be a primary use case for Xero for non-Radiologists, so we had better support this.

Simple Image and Numeric Reports - again, we had better support viewing this (and in fact we already do.)

Reporting Workflow - since Xero may well be on a remote system, it would be helpful to support this.

Node Authentication - required for security

Audit trail - required for HIPAA

Optional Profiles

Scheduled Workflow - this should likely be done eventually, as it adds quite a lot to the project.

Patient Information Reconciliation - it would be helpful to allow Xero to perform this step as an optional, plug-in component.

Presentation of Grouped Procedures - this would be nice to support

Portable Data for Imaging - this would be generally helpful, but might not be required.

NM Image - it would be nice to have someone support this as a plug-in module
