h3. Adding a new AE title
Any entities that must communicate with dcm4chee must be added using the AE Management console in the web Administration Tools. You must know the AE title, hostname or IP address, and port for the AE title you are adding.
h5. To add an AE title
# In the web Administration Tools, click *AE Management*.
You must have the WebAdmin user access level to modify AE titles.
# Type the *AE Title* of the entity, with no spaces.
# Type the *Hostname* or the IP address.
# If you typed the IP address, select the *check* checkbox.
When you add the AE title, the IP address is resolved to the correct hostname if this option is selected. This is required if your site does not use static IP addresses.
# Type the *Port*.
# Optionally, for DICOM TLS communication, select the *Cipher Suites* to use.
The order of the selections determines the preferences of the cipher suite to use.
# To test whether the connection is working, click *Echo*.
# If the test passes, click *Create*.
If the test fails, repeat step 2 to step 6 until the Echo test passes.
