Class PixelSpacing

All Implemented Interfaces:
AttributesWrapper, DataElementWrapper, BytesDataElementWrapper, DecimalStringMultiWrapper, DoubleDataElementMultiWrapper, FloatDataElementMultiWrapper, StringDataElementMultiWrapper

public class PixelSpacing extends AbstractDataElementWrapper implements DecimalStringMultiWrapper
Name: Pixel Spacing
Keyword: PixelSpacing
Tag: (0028,0030)
Value Representation: DS
Value Multiplicity: 2
  • Described in the contexts: as follows:
    Attribute Name: Pixel Spacing
    Type: 1C
    Attribute Description:

Nominal physical distance at the focal plane (in the retina) between the center of each pixel, specified by a numeric pair - adjacent row spacing (delimiter) adjacent column spacing in mm. See DICOM Standard Part 3 - Section 10.7.1.3 for further explanation of the value order.

    Note

These values are specified as nominal because the physical distance may vary across the field of the images and the lens correction is likely to be imperfect.

Shall not be present when Two Dimensional to Three Dimensional Map Sequence (0022,1518) or X Coordinates Center Pixel View Angle (0022,1528) and Y Coordinates Center Pixel View Angle (0022,1529) are present. Otherwise, required when Acquisition Device Type Code Sequence (0022,0015) contains an Item with the value http://snomed.info/id/409898007(409898007, SCT, "Fundus Camera"). May be present otherwise.

  • Described in the contexts: as follows:
    Attribute Name: Pixel Spacing
    Type: 1
    Attribute Description:

Nominal physical distance at the focal plane (in the retina) between the center of each pixel, specified by a numeric pair - adjacent row spacing (delimiter) adjacent column spacing in mm. See Section 10.7.1.3for further explanation of the value order.

    Note

Since a patient's retina is curved and the image representation is planar, there can be an error in using Pixel Spacing (0028,0030) for measurements in the periphery of the image. En face imaging does not support wide field measurements.

  • Described in the contexts: as follows:
    Attribute Name: Pixel Spacing
    Type: 1
    Attribute Description:

Physical distance in the patient between the center of each pixel, specified by a numeric pair - adjacent row spacing (delimiter) adjacent column spacing in mm.

    Note

Since a patient's retina is curved, there can be a small error in using Pixel Spacing (0028,0030) for distance measurements in the periphery of the image.

See DICOM Standard Part 3 - Section 10.7.1.3 for further explanation.

  • Described in the contexts: as follows:
    Attribute Name: Pixel Spacing
    Type: 3
    Attribute Description:

Physical distance in the imaging target (patient or specimen) between the center of each pixel, specified as a numeric pair - adjacent row spacing \ adjacent column spacing, in mm. See DICOM Standard Part 3 - Section 10.7.1.3.

  • Described in the contexts: as follows:
    Attribute Name: Pixel Spacing
    Type: 1C
    Attribute Description:

Physical distance in the Patient between the center of each pixel, specified by a numeric pair - adjacent row spacing (delimiter) adjacent column spacing in mm. See DICOM Standard Part 3 - Section 10.7.1.1 and DICOM Standard Part 3 - Section 10.7.1.3. Required if the image has been calibrated. May be present otherwise.
